The Abbey Ridge Observatory, with its Celestron 14 telescope, is a robot! It is one of only three observatories in the world, along with the Burke-Gaffney Observatory and the Mini-Robotic Observatory that can be controlled from Mastodon, and E-mail in a fully-automatic way. You can also use its dedicated Communicator App!

It has a flexible and easy-to-use interface that allows observers to obtain astronomical images of objects of their choice in a fully-automatic way! You can interact with it using either Mastodon or Email. It also Tweets to Twitter and "toots" to Mastodon live what it's doing.

Observers need to become authorized to use this service, after which you can submit requests to the observatory's observation queue and the telescope will automatically take images for you! At the present time, it is available for use only by those previously authorized by the owner.
